Fecal Testing and Blood Parasite Tests

We offer in-house and send out fecal testing, which checks for intestinal parasites most commonly found in dogs and cats. We recommend annual fecal testing as intestinal parasites are very common and spread throughout the environment.

Most common GI parasites found in this area:
  • Roundworms
  • Hookworms
  • Tapeworms
  • Coccidia
  • Giardia
  • Whipworms

We also offer an in house blood test called a blood parasite test that checks for heartworms ( spread by mosquitos ) and three tick borne disease: Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, and Lyme.  Even in the winter months, parasites can be a threat, which is why we encourage year round prevention to ensure your pet does not contract these diseases.

Bloodwork

We also offer preventative bloodwork panels that we can run based on the age and health of your pet.  Running annual bloodwork on your pet is important to give your doctor a baseline so that if something were to change in the future, they are able to detect subtle changes.  Bloodwork is also extremely important, and sometimes required, when your pet is taking chronic or intermittent medications.  We offer in house and send out options to best fit your pets needs.
